Meals for Burkina Faso

On Thursday, February 20th, students may participate in a School Colors Out of Uniform Day in exchange for a $2 donation to our mission to send meals to Burkina Faso.  We will be packing these meals on March 29th.

Students who make the $2 donation may dress out of uniform, but should be in school colors (red, white and black).

Student Council Canned Food Drive

Dear parents,

With grateful hearts, one of our missions this month is donating canned goods to
stock the Cathedra’s pantry.  This year we are asking buddy classes to donate
specific food items.

They are as follows:

  • Pre-K/5th- rice, gravy mix/ dry beans
  • K/6th- mac and cheese, stuffing, mashed potatoes
  • 1st/7th- soup/canned vegetables
  • 2nd/8th- cranberries, pumpkin, fruit
  • 3rd/4th- Peanut Butter, Jelly, spaghetti, and sauce

The last day to donate will be on Friday, November 9th.  We will have a few of the
cans and boxes brought up during the offertory at Mass on Friday, November 16th.
If you are able to donate, it is very much appreciated.

September is childhood cancer month

September is childhood cancer month and we recognize that by wearing yellow. 122299307-2

However, the color for childhood leukemia is orange.  In support of Madeleine Ritz, we are asking students to wear an orange shirt on Thursday with a $2 donation for the leukemia association.

If you do not have an orange shirt, please wear yellow in recognition of childhood cancer.

  • Students in grades 3-8 may wear jeans, not shorts, with their t-shirts.
  • Boys may wear shorts only if they wear their uniform shorts.
  • Students in pre-k-2nd grade may wear shorts with their t-shirts.
  • All students are required to wear uniform shoes.

Angel Tree Mission

Angel-Christmas-TreeAs we immerse our hearts and thoughts into this Advent Season, we are reminded of the many blessings we have been given.  The Student Council’s Advent project is to identify several families on the Angel Tree at Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish.

We have identified three families who include 12 children.  It is our goal this Advent season to collect money so we can provide presents for these children.

We are asking for monetary donations, which we will be collecting until Friday, December 9, 2016.

Once the money is collected, student council members, teachers, and representatives will shop for the presents requested.  We will then wrap the presents and bring them to church at our liturgy on Friday, December 16.

We thank you, in advance, for your participation in this project.

Sincerely,

Student Council Officers and Representatives
