There are two ways to get the photos to us:

  • Upload digital pictures to our photo submission site.  You will be asked to include the student’s name and grade-level before completing the submission.
  • Place photos in an envelope, clearly label it with your child’s name and send it to the attention of Ms. Drummond in the office.  Photos will be scanned and returned to your students to take home.
  • Deadline to submit pictures is December 15th.

Remember, you can also use the photo submission site to send us other photos for possible inclusion in the yearbook (dances, field trips, sporting events, etc…)

Letter from the Principal

Fall Greetings,snow

Thank you for everyone who enthusiastically supported our student-led conferences.  As research supports, these conferences help to enable your young person to be accountable for their learning.   We all learn differently through different avenues and this process helps young people understand how they learn.  It also allows us to learn how to best serve you and your young person so they are successful. Thank you for your continued support.

The new lights were installed in the gym October 9th.  Please stop by and admire the efficient lighting in our gym.

We are coming to a close in the month of October.

Friday, November 17

  • 11:00 AM – Thanksgiving Feast

As a reminder, the second annual Thanksgiving Feast will be Friday, November 17 at 11 a.m.  This is our time to serve you, our young people and families.  We have a Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, bread and cookie, along with a drink. I work with Publix to cater this event, as we did last year. Thankfully, our room moms make this a reality as they serve our students.  Our students eat with their buddies and we celebrate that we are a family, united together.

Food Pantry Missionkimbell

News & Notes

Greetings,snow

Please join me in wishing Jean McCormack the best as she begins her new position with Brown Helicopter.  As the kindergarten aide, Jeanne has worked at Sacred Heart Cathedral School for 16 years with Mrs. Jennifer Haines. While we will miss Jean’s friendly smile and gentle spirit, we wish her well as she begins her new venture.  Fortunately, Ms. Williams, mom to Mariah in third grade and Estrella in pre-K, will be joining Mrs. Haines as the new kindergarten aide.  Ms. Williams has a degree in education and has been spending time with Mrs. Haines preparing for her new position.

We are going to begin a new tradition here at Sacred Heart Cathedral School. On Tuesday, November 22nd, our school will gather together as a family for a Thanksgiving meal which will be served in the gym.   Because our school has grown to 300 students, we will have two shifts.  The children will eat with their buddies so they can spend some time together. The first lunch shift will include Pre K- and 5th grade, K and 6th, and 3rd grade.  The second shift will include 1st and 7th grade, 2nd and 8th grade and 4th grade.  Room moms will be serving the meal which will consist of turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn and green beans, rolls, and dessert.  Water, milk, and lemonade will be served. I realize some of our children have specific food allergies, so please let me know what we can do to accommodate your child.

Please join us for our Veteran’s Day Celebration tomorrow morning at our 8 a.m. prayer gathering.  We are thankful and reminded of our veterans’ continual service to our country.

kimbellThank you to Patti Salvaggio and Wendy McIntosh-Holmes, Dyna, Dana, and the countless volunteers who brought in water, made pumpkin bread and helped serve on Saturday.  As always, this race is a great family event.  It was so nice to see so many of our families participate.  We could not have had this race without your support.  Thank you, once again, for being part of our family here at Sacred Heart Cathedral School.

Blessings,
Elizabeth & Dave
