6:00pm Meeting
SHCS Patio

Friends,

On behalf of the PTO Board and the faculty of Sacred Heart Cathedral School, I would like to invite you to join us for a general PTO meeting on Wednesday, October 10th in the beautiful new outdoor dining area. Refreshments will begin at 5:30 PM with the meeting following at 6:00 PM.

We will discuss the upcoming PTO events and what your PTO does for you. Additionally, we are looking for ideas and feedback on ways to streamline communication with parents and how to better serve our SHCS families.

Your children are welcome to attend this meeting with you. All families in attendance will receive a crazy sock pass or a homework pass for each child. We will have SHCS spirit items (Tervis tumblers, hats, and visors) for sale at discounted prices also.

Keep an eye on our SHCS PTO Facebook page for a trivia question. The first parent to answer the question correctly will receive a prize, but you must be present at the PTO meeting to collect your winnings!

We look forward to seeing you!

Blessings,
Bronwynn Hindman
SHCS PTO President

Letter from the Principal

Fall Greetings,snow

Thank you for everyone who enthusiastically supported our student-led conferences.  As research supports, these conferences help to enable your young person to be accountable for their learning.   We all learn differently through different avenues and this process helps young people understand how they learn.  It also allows us to learn how to best serve you and your young person so they are successful. Thank you for your continued support.

The new lights were installed in the gym October 9th.  Please stop by and admire the efficient lighting in our gym.

We are coming to a close in the month of October.

Friday, October 27

  • 4:00 PM – Friday Night Lights at Catholic High
  • 6:00 PM – Seat ‘N Treat at SHCS

Sunday, October 29

Please join the parish celebration of Octoberfest this weekend.  The parish will supply the meat; please bring a dish to share.  It is always a wonderful time as many of our families come together for this event.  It begins after the 11 a.m. Mass.

Tuesday, October 31

Our Fall Fest will be held for our school community on Tuesday, October 31st.  The students will be in uniform except for the students that are in charge of the event.

With the festivities of October behind us, we turn our prayers and thoughts toward November.

As we commemorate All Saints and All Souls day, we will continue our remembrance of the Wall of Holy Souls.  You may submit your request via a paper copy or through our online process this year.  Your loved one will be published on the wall and remembered in our book of prayers throughout the month of November, including our monthly rosary on the first Friday of the month.

Saturday, November 4

Please join me in supporting our annual Pumpkin Run.  This is not only a huge fundraiser for Sacred Heart Cathedral School but it is also a way to showcase our wonderful school and community.

Pumpkin Bread – Download the recipe here

Fire up the ovens and make that pumpkin bread! We rely on your assistance to help make this run a success.  If you do not like to bake, Publix, Fresh Market and Apple market have bread you can buy and bring to school.  Thank you, in advance, for your support.

Friday, November 17

  • 11:00 AM – Thanksgiving Feast

As a reminder, the second annual Thanksgiving Feast will be Friday, November 17 at 11 a.m.  This is our time to serve you, our young people and families.  We have a Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, bread and cookie, along with a drink. I work with Publix to cater this event, as we did last year. Thankfully, our room moms make this a reality as they serve our students.  Our students eat with their buddies and we celebrate that we are a family, united together.

Food Pantry Missionkimbell

We are helping to stock the food pantry at the parish for Thanksgiving.  All grades have been asked to bring in specialty items to make Thanksgiving special for families in need. Thank you for your support.

Blessings,
