Principal’s News & Notes

Fall Greetings,

snow

Elizabeth Snow, Principal

It is hard to believe we are reaching the end of the first quarter here at Sacred Heart Cathedral School. Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us. There have been many accomplishments as students have had the opportunity to learn and master new concepts, create and renew friendships and live true to our mission of educating hearts and minds for God.

Our first session of MAP testing is complete and the faculty and staff are learning how to interpret the results. As soon as training is complete, we will give everyone an explanation of this test. We are one of a few pilot schools that have been asked to participate in this testing. The advantage of MAP is that it is more of a diagnostic test, listing strengths and weaknesses so we can specify learning to the individual needs.

Please remember those Lucky Heart tickets. This fundraiser provides the opportunity to
enhance our academic programs for our young people. You have the opportunity to win $50 or $100 and your child earns a free dress day every month. The deadline has been extended to next Friday. Please consider participating.

There are a few happenings this month that we would like to share with you.

Blessing of the Animals – Wednesday, October 4th, 2:00 PMsacred-heart-pinellas-park-animal-blessing-1080x675
In recognition of the Feast of Saint Francis Assisi, Father James will bless the animals at 2 p.m. in the parking lot. If you are available and have an animal you would like to have blessed, please bring them to the parking lot by 2 p.m. We welcome all members of
our parish community to participate. Dogs must be on a leash and all other animals need to be in some sort of crate/carton. This is always such a special day for our parish community. I realize many will want to check out their child(ren) after this, so please check with Mrs. Boland and arrange for dismissal. Dismissal will be the same as always.
