Meals for Burkina Faso

On Thursday, February 20th, students may participate in a School Colors Out of Uniform Day in exchange for a $2 donation to our mission to send meals to Burkina Faso.  We will be packing these meals on March 29th.

Students who make the $2 donation may dress out of uniform, but should be in school colors (red, white and black).

A Letter from the Principal

Blessings and Greetings for the New Year,

As we begin our journey together through 2020, I want to sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the faculty and staff monetary fund.  Thanks to your generosity and the PTO’s willingness to meet what money was collected from our parents, our entire faculty and staff were very gratified with their bonus this last week of December.   I am continually humbled and honored to be able to serve you.  Thank you also for the many personal notes, letters and gifts.  I love watching the face of your children as they enthusiastically walk into school each day.  I understand there may be a few bumps, but I pray you realize we are here to work together.  Please always know, this is a partnership, so our administrative team is here to work, in partnership with you.

Report cards will be sent home today.  There will be an envelope in your child’s backpack.  Pre-K and Kindergarten reports will be sent home next week.  These young people have worked very hard to attain their grades and I know you support their successes.  Once again, thank you for your continued support.

Our eighth grade students will be entering their third set of service opportunities on Friday, January 17.  They have been rotating through a series of service projects on our Friday half-days and have had enthusiastic revues from every place they have served.  I am not surprised as this group is extremely empathetic and humble about their service.

I will be out of town from January 21-January 24 as I am chairing an accreditation visit in Sunrise, Florida.  As a result of this visit, I am going to postpone Grandparents’ Day.  I apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but I really feel it is important to be present for Grandparents’ Day.  If you have a grandparent who has planned to visit Pensacola from out of state, please contact me and I will work with you so they can visit our school and your child’s classroom.  I certainly do not want any grandparent inconvenienced because of my schedule.  I will make it work for them on an individual basis.  The day is not cancelled, it is postponed.  My hope is we will be able to reschedule when our new addition is complete and we can showcase our wonderful chapel and new classrooms.  I will keep you informed.

Catholic Schools Week is quickly approaching, so please mark Sunday, January 26 on your calendar.  We will all gather for Mass and hospitality in Ave Maria Hall after Mass. A schedule for the week will be sent home shortly.   However, some traditions never change, such as our annual kick-ball game on Friday, January 31.  The game will start shortly after 1 p.m. Please plan to attend as our 8th grade students take on the staff and faculty.  STUCO will also attend the annual Catholic High School Mass celebration, representing our school.

I end this note with saying, once again, it is a sacred privilege to serve you and your family.  You are the best as you volunteer to coach, work in the lunchroom, arrive for early drop off, offer to drive on field trips, and offer a caring hand for whatever our needs. You volunteer for PTO, finance councils and SAC. You answer Dyna’s call to serve.  Thank you for your willingness to help.

Please watch for news for our Trivia Night…It is our 10th anniversary, and while we cannot hold the event on site, we still plan for a spectacular event. I know you will all support our cause, which is for the benefit of our children.

Yearbook Ads

It’s hard to believe that in a few short months this school year will be a memory. Why not make it special by placing a recognition ad in the yearbook? Yearbook staff members will combine your photos and message of love and pride to create a completely personalized design.

Photos may be print or high resolution digital. Send digital photos to with YEARBOOK AD in the subject line. Print photos may be sent in with the order form. They will be returned to you.

Making your ad is simple! Download and fill out the order form, attach payment and include print photos in an envelope marked YEARBOOK AD to Ms. Drummond in the main office no later than FRIDAY, JANUARY 31.

Praying for Pensacola

The Sacred Heart School community dedicated our first Friday Rosary to the victims, military and first responders involved in the shootings at NAS Pensacola.  We also remembered them in our Mass on Friday morning.  We will continue to pray for God’s peace and mercy on our community.

No school tomorrow (Tuesday) due to a water main pipe break late this afternoon.

School is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday morning.

Class pictures will be rescheduled.

We apologize for this last minute development but by law we cannot open school without water.

This is the year of flexibility!
