Dear Parents, Guardians and Supporters of Sacred Heart Cathedral School,
We have begun the Holiest of Weeks in the Church Year with the celebration of Palm Sunday. We are fast approaching the Sacred Triduum of Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil. It is a time of great reflection but alto a time of great grace. May this week be an opportunity for each us to stop, listen and reflect on the voice of our God.
We have been blessed with many events at Sacred Heart Cathedral School. Our Science Olympiad team qualified to compete at the state level and placed 15 overall in the state with team members earning medals. Our middle school students spent the day at NAS and learned what is involved in aviation. Our fifth graders spent the day studying environmental issues while some of our other grades are looking forward to their upcoming field trips. Our second graders are busy preparing for their first Communion in May.
Before we look forward to our anticipated spring break, there are a few important events planned for this week.
- In tradition, the eighth-grade class will attend the Chrism Mass on Tuesday at 10 a.m., followed by lunch and an afternoon of basketball/sports with the seminarians.
- Our second-grade students have been practicing for the Living Stations of the Cross that will be presented on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m., in the Cathedral. Please plan to join us for this.
- Our annual poetry night is this Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. If you would like to present a reading or have an original piece of work, please contact me.
Whether you stay home this season or travel to relax or be with family, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you as we, united in our faith, go forward together to spread the good news of God’s love.
Prayers for a Blessed Easter,
Elizabeth and Dave
