Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes

As we move closer to the end of the year, we have many activities planned, so please mark your calendar and plan to join us.

Tuesday, May 10th the Kona Ice truck will be visiting. Each student will receive a free Kona Ice treat as a reward for surpassing our goal for Lucky Heart sales last fall.

Wednesday, May 11 is our presentation From the Heart – A Showcase of Talent.  Many of our students will be sharing their musical talents with us.  This event will take place in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart at 6 p.m.

Our 8th grade Ribbon Mass will be Friday, May 13 at 8 a.m.  Mr. Luke, who interned at our school last year, has been ordained a deacon.  He will be preaching at this Mass.  Please join us.  The 2nd and 8th grade class will have their traditional brunch after Mass, followed by the 8th grade retreat.

8th grade exams begin on Thursday.

Congratulations to our two Serra Essay Award winners.  Joey Baroco in 7th grade placed first and Josilyn LaRose in 8th grade placed second.  The Serra essay gives our young people the opportunity to thoughtfully reflect on the meaning of ministry and vocation in the context of their everyday life experience.  Congratulations to Joey and Jocelyn.  They will be reading their essays to Bishop Parkes next Tuesday at the diocesan center.

Thank you for your continued support of Sacred Heart Cathedral School.  Our parents and students are the best.
