Sweet Treats for Trivia Night
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
Trivia Night is one of the big fundraisers for Sacred Heart Cathedral School.
The dessert table is a big hit with participants and would not be what it is, without your continued support.
Desserts can be homemade or purchased and need to be items that do not require refrigeration or utensils.
To donate a sweet treat for this fun event or if you have any questions, please email pegasus53d@yahoo.com – Jo Elizabeth (Joey) Brown or seafairies45@yahoo.com – Dehon Rigney.
Catholic Schools Week Events
Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes
Winter Greetings,
Our gym floor is complete! We may use the floor Sunday morning as the paint needs time to cure. The tile floor is being installed today and tomorrow and the pads will be installed early next week. The room looks great, and I thank each one of you for your contribution and support.
As we prepare for Catholic Schools Week (CSW), I would like to share some “statistics” with you about Catholic education. As a tradition, Catholic Schools Week (CSW) occurs during the last week in January. However, this year, the last week begins on Sunday, January 31, 2016, which officially marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. During this week, we celebrate our Catholic School along with every other Catholic School in not only the Pensacola-Tallahassee diocese, but in the nation. Currently, there are 6,568 Catholic elementary and secondary schools in our nation. Last year, 27 new Catholic Schools opened across the country, so there is a growing trend in seeing the advantages of a Catholic education.
The theme for Catholic Schools Week is: “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.” We at Sacred Heart Cathedral School support this theme by offering outstanding academic excellence in a faith-filled Catholic environment. Service becomes a way of life for our children, from bringing cans weekly to our liturgies to embracing monthly service projects.
We will begin our week with a school-led Mass on Sunday, January 31st at the 8 a.m. liturgy. I am asking all the student’s that attend to be in uniform. If students are in uniform on Sunday, they will have an “out of uniform” day at a later date. A pancake breakfast will follow in our new gym and the book fair will be open in the library. Our traditional grandparent’s day is Monday, February 1st. Please make plans to join us for these events. More events will follow during the week. Please refer to your flyers from school.
As always, thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with your wonderful children.
Blessings,
Elizabeth Snow

Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes
Greetings,
Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes
Blessings to each of our families, faculty and staff on this New Year. We have many exciting events planned for January, but I would first like to thank everyone who generously contributed to our teacher, staff and faculty Christmas fund. Thank you to all of our supporters for being sure the students had wonderful parties, celebrations and were immersed in the festivities of our Christmas. Thank you also for the very generous gifts bestowed upon the office, staff and myself. From all of us, we appreciate and cherish your partnership as we move forward in educating “hearts and minds for God”.
The gym remodel is moving forward as they will begin laying the floor this next week. Catholic School’s Week begins with our opening liturgy on Sunday, January 31. Please join us for a pancake breakfast following the 8 a.m. Mass
Save the date: Wednesday, February 24 will be our second family spiritual evening. This time the theme will be Lent. More information coming….
Blessings,
Elizabeth Snow
