Sweet Treats for Trivia Night

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

Trivia Night is one of the big fundraisers for Sacred Heart Cathedral School.

The dessert table is a big hit with participants and would not be what it is, without your continued support.

Desserts can be homemade or purchased and need to be items that do not require refrigeration or utensils.

To donate a sweet treat for this fun event or if you have any questions, please email pegasus53d@yahoo.com – Jo Elizabeth (Joey) Brown or seafairies45@yahoo.com – Dehon Rigney.

Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes

Winter Greetings,CSW

Our gym floor is complete! We may use the floor Sunday morning as the paint needs time to cure. The tile floor is being installed today and tomorrow and the pads will be installed early next week. The room looks great, and I thank each one of you for your contribution and support.

As we prepare for Catholic Schools Week (CSW), I would like to share some “statistics” with you about Catholic education. As a tradition, Catholic Schools Week (CSW) occurs during the last week in January. However, this year, the last week begins on Sunday, January 31, 2016, which officially marks the beginning of Catholic Schools Week. During this week, we celebrate our Catholic School along with every other Catholic School in not only the Pensacola-Tallahassee diocese, but in the nation. Currently, there are 6,568 Catholic elementary and secondary schools in our nation. Last year, 27 new Catholic Schools opened across the country, so there is a growing trend in seeing the advantages of a Catholic education.

The theme for Catholic Schools Week is: “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge, and Service.” We at Sacred Heart Cathedral School support this theme by offering outstanding academic excellence in a faith-filled Catholic environment. Service becomes a way of life for our children, from bringing cans weekly to our liturgies to embracing monthly service projects.

We will begin our week with a school-led Mass on Sunday, January 31st at the 8 a.m. liturgy. I am asking all the student’s that attend to be in uniform. If students are in uniform on Sunday, they will have an “out of uniform” day at a later date. A pancake breakfast will follow in our new gym and the book fair will be open in the library. Our traditional grandparent’s day is Monday, February 1st. Please make plans to join us for these events. More events will follow during the week. Please refer to your flyers from school.

As always, thank you for giving us the opportunity to work with your wonderful children.

Blessings,

Elizabeth Snow

Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes

Greetings,SnowIcon

Our students and faculty are fully alive and moving onward and upward as we move into this second semester of learning.  Thank you for your support as you help your child/children achieve their highest potential. Through your partnership, we achieve excellence for these wonderful young people.
SAVE THE DATE:  Wednesday, February 17th  is our Spiritual Family Evening for our Lenten season.  Please mark this day on your calendar.  More information will be coming soon.
Catholic Schools Week:  Plan to join us for the 8 a.m. Mass on January 31st followed by a pancake breakfast hosted by the Knights of Columbus.  We will also be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair which funds books for our library.  Thank you for supporting both events.
On Monday February 1st, we will host our annual Grandparent’s Day at Sacred Heart Cathedral School. Please invite your grandparents or special family friends to join us on this day.  The activities take place during the morning.
Thank you to everyone who is also participating in our annual Trivia Night.  This event sells out quickly so please reserve your tables early.
The gym is in process as they plan to lay the floor today and mark the floor with paint for volleyball and basketball on Sunday.  We are asked to stay off the floor for 72 hours after the paint has been placed.  I am confident everyone will agree this has been a progressive move forward toward providing a great facility for our young people.
Blessings,
Elizabeth

Blessings to each of our families, faculty and staff on this NeSnowIconw Year. We have many exciting events planned for January, but I would first like to thank everyone who generously contributed to our teacher, staff and faculty Christmas fund.
