Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes
Thanksgiving Greetings,
In one week, we will be celebrating Thanksgiving. On this day, we take time to be with family and friends. I encourage all of you to stop and reflect on our own personal blessings and our blessings as a school and parish community. We are all very grateful for our students, staff, and parent community who reflect all that Sacred Heart Cathedral represents. You and your family and loved ones will be in my prayers this Thanksgiving season. From everyone here at Sacred Heart Cathedral School, we extend our blessings for a peaceful and restful Thanksgiving and feeling God’s love in our hearts.
Thank you for the wonderful response to our first Annual Spiritual Evening. If you have not responded, please do so. The date is Wednesday, December 2nd beginning with dinner at 5:30. All are welcome.
Blessings,
Elizabeth Snow

Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our first Family Spiritual Evening will be held during the first week of Advent, on Wednesday, December 3, 2015. The evening will begin with a chili dinner, prepared and served by our teachers. We will meet in the gym where dinner will be served. Just bring your family to enjoy. We appreciate you, our parents, and welcome you in partnership during the spiritual development of your child(ren) throughout the year, but especially during this Advent season.
Following dinner, Mr. Hartwell will present a reflection on “Celebrating the Presence not the presents”. This short reflection will be followed up with age-appropriate discussion groups. The teachers will be leading the discussion groups. Everyone will then come together for an Advent family activity where the families will be given the supplies to make an Advent wreath for the home. The evening will begin at 5:30 and will finish no later than 7:30.
Please plan to join us for this evening of spiritual growth during the Advent season. We look forward to the opportunity to grow together as a family community in anticipation of the celebration of Christmas.
Please RSVP by November 30th, so we have enough supplies…
You may send an email to esnow@shcs.ptdiocese.org indicating family name and number attending or send an email to your child’s primary teacher. Thank you for all you do in partnership with us in promoting our Catholic identity within our schools and families.
Blessings,
Elizabeth Snow

Child Safety Matters
Dear Parents,
Beginning next week, our students in Kindergarten through 6th grade will participate in the CHILD SAFETY MATTERS program funded by the Monique Burr Foundation for Children. This is a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate prevention program that is backed by research. This program educates and empowers students with strategies to prevent and respond to unsafe situations including bullying, cyberbullying, digital abuse, and all types of child abuse.
Gulf Coast Kid’s House has generously offered to provide this for us and allow their trained facilitators to present in the classroom with Mrs. Adams in Guidance. You may learn more about this program by visiting www.mbfchildsafetymatters.org. There is a Parent and Community component in addition to the school curriculum.
Please feel free to contact Mrs. Adams with any questions or concerns.
