Student Led Conferences

  • October 28th, 29th, 30th
  • Noon Dismissal
    (Extended Care Available)

Your student needs to be with you – this is their presentation!

Conference schedules were emailed Wednesday afternoon and students will bring a hard copy of the schedule home – check book bags!

Students are beginning to evaluate their performance this first quarter and are looking forward to presenting their report card, goals, and progress to their parents at our student-led conferences in October. Each conference is ten minutes in length and begins with a prayer. The student then explains how they have progressed this first quarter and they will ask their parents to help them write a goal for the rest of the year. This goal can be school or home based.

We will be having Noon Dismissal on these days with conferences scheduled between 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Only one parent is required to attend, but if possible, it would be nice if you could meet as a family. The teacher is the facilitator and your child will be the owner of the presentation.

Mrs. Snow’s News & Notes

We would like to invite you to download and print our annual form for the Memorial Wall of Holy Souls. Please return to school so we may include your deceased family members in our prayers during the month of November.

I would like to thank you for your generosity and support of our two fundraisers this past month. Thank you for your generosity in collecting funds for the Bergstrom Family. With our out-of-uniform day, we were able to raise $1,160.00 Thank you for your generosity and support of the Bergstrom Family. I know Mr. Bergstrom’s presence has added a dimension of achievement and success to our middle school program.

Also, thank you to everyone who supported our Lucky Hearts Program. PTO set a goal of $25,000, but thanks to your dedication, Lucky Hearts raised $29,870.00. Since we surpassed the goal, the student body will have a Kona Ice treat in the spring. The Henson family sold the most tickets followed by the Greeley and Rigney family. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated in this very worthwhile event.

Please mark your calendars for the evening of Wednesday, December 2 at 5:30. This will be our first annual Spiritual evening for Families. This night is dedicated for families, faculty and staff to come together for an evening of fellowship, spirituality and prayer. Since this will be during the first week of Advent, the theme will be “Celebrating the Presence not the Presents”. The teachers will provide a chili dinner with all the fixings, including drinks and dessert, you just need to bring your family. After a presentation and break-out session by age groups, the families will come back together to make an Advent wreathe to take home. We will have another evening during our Lenten season. These evenings of prayer unite us in fulfilling the mission of the school which is preparing hearts and minds for God. I will send home a reservation form home in a few weeks as we will need to plan to have enough supplies for everyone.

I will be in Tampa next week on an accreditation team, but will return to SHCS on Thursday, October 29 in time for student-led conferences. Thank you, in advance, for attending these conferences as they are a great tool for your child to be able to talk about their achievements and set both personal and academic goals for continued success.
